Paraiso Escondido

In 1991, I moved with my family to Costa Rica to set-up an "offshore production site" for my company's product line. The project was to last six months but it turned into three years. Costa Rica, with all of its beauty, had captured me and the decision was made to stay much longer than the six months needed to complete the project. Construction costs were low and my creative juices were flowing so without delay, a home was being built. The plans were drawn and drawn again. The project just grew and grew and grew. And in the end it grew to be the size of a small hotel.

Then the three years passed and it was time to come home. So what do you do with an oversized home? ... turn it into a small luxury Inn.

From the very moment you enter our property, you will feel like you have arrived. The words Paraiso Escondido mean "Hidden Paradise" and we believe that those two words best describe not only our property but also Costa Rica in general. We are nestled right smack in the middle of Vista Nosara, a very normal upper middle class Costa Rican Neighborhood.

The outside of the property is by design, somewhat non-descript but just beyond our front door lies a tropical paradise. In the very center of the house is a central courtyard filled with furniture. Couches, chairs, game tables and dining areas are available for our guests to enjoy In the center of the courtyard is garden area without a roof. That's right. You're standing on a lawn in the middle of the house and when you look up, all you see are the stars (provided its not raining).
