The Rainforest Aerial Tram
![]() |
Built on a private reserve bordering Brauho Carillo National Park, the Aerial Tram is the brainchild of rainforest researcher Dr. Donald Perry, whose cable-car system through the forest canopy at Rara Avia helped establish him as an early expert on rainforest canopies. The tramway takes visitors on a 90 minute ride, through the treetops, where they have the chance to glimpse the complex web of life that makes these forests unique. | |
| There are also well groomed trails through the rainforest and a restaurant on site, so a trip here can easily take a full day. The cost of the tour, including transportation from Paraiso Escondido is about $95.00 per person. You can also get there by bus. Take the bus to San Jose (the bus stop is about two blocks away from Paraiso Escondido) and once in the city take the Guapiles bus (from Calle 12 between Avenidas 7 and 9) directly to the Tram. | ![]() |
